AWS Cloud Security Monitoring Dashboard

A real-time cloud security monitoring web application ingesting AWS CloudTrail / CloudWatch events, flagging anomalous activity using rule-based and ML detection. Stack: Laravel API backend, JavaScript frontend, MySQL, AWS SDK. Combines CompTIA Security+ knowledge with the phishing detection research.

Overview

Currently in planning/early development. This project will combine cloud infrastructure monitoring (AWS CloudTrail and CloudWatch event ingestion) with the anomaly/threat detection techniques developed in the MSc dissertation and the network traffic analysis project.

Planned approach

Laravel API backend ingesting AWS CloudTrail / CloudWatch events
JavaScript frontend dashboard for real-time visibility into account activity
MySQL for event storage and historical analysis
Rule-based detection rules (informed by CompTIA Security+ study) combined with ML-based anomaly detection (informed by the dissertation pipeline)
